The ambitious $3.8 million initiative, a collaboration between municipal funding, state grants, and private philanthropic contributions, aims to alleviate critical service gaps, particularly within the city’s historically underserved eastern districts.
Located prominently on Elm Street, the newly constructed 18,000-square-foot center is equipped with fifteen examination rooms, two dental suites, and dedicated spaces for mental health counseling and nutritional guidance. It is projected to serve an estimated 17,000 patients annually, offering comprehensive primary care, preventative screenings, immunizations, and chronic disease management. This integrated approach is designed to foster holistic well-being and reduce the reliance on emergency room visits for non-urgent conditions, a common challenge in areas with limited primary care options.
